About The Project

Jharkhand Van AdhikarManch, (JVAM) is a platform for the coming together for 24 civil organizations in the state of Jharkhand. The main objective of JVAM is to ensure the correct implementation of The Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006; so as to protect the rights of the forest dependent tribal communities and other forest dwellers, and bring about a new paradigm of forest governance, through the active participation of forest dependent communities.

To achieve this goal, the focus is to bring together the different organizations working for the cause of Forest Rights and provide a coherent direction.

To ensure that JVAM works in a well planned manner to identify and enable the rights of the claimants of this Act. In this regard, Manthan Yuva Sansthan (Secretariat of JVAM) has been playing a leading role, and working in tandem with the various other civil society organizations to fulfill the mandate of the monarch.

The main objective of this project is :

  • Generation of 1000 CFR claims till December 2016.
  • Arrange Training of 500 miters Van.
  • Training of 1300 FRCs members.
  • Sensitization training of PRI representatives of SDLC and DLC: 150 members participated.
  • Sensitization sessions with Government officials and field level officials involved in implementation of FRA.
  • Generation of 50,000 IFR claim.

Output Comes:

  • 150 CFR claims at a gram Sabha level out of which in some villages field verification have been done, and in some villages mapping have been done (this data is from 1st April to December 2016) 54000 thousand IFR distributed by JVAM effort.
  • 20 CFR Claims have reached at SDLC level (this data is from 1st April to December 2016).
  • No CFR titles were distributed during this period.
  • Through RTI at districts, we got the information regarding the proceedings of SDLC and DLC and also about notification of SDLC and DLC.
