About The Project

Jharkhand Van AdhikarManch, (JVAM) is a platform for the coming together for 24 civil organizations in the state of Jharkhand. The main objective of JVAM is to ensure the correct implementation of The Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006; so as to protect the rights of the forest dependent tribal communities and other forest dwellers, and bring about a new paradigm of forest governance, through the active participation of forest dependent communities.

To achieve this goal, the focus is to bring together the different organizations working for the cause of Forest Rights and provide a coherent direction.

To ensure that JVAM works in a well planned manner to identify and enable the rights of the claimants of this Act. In this regard, Manthan Yuva Sansthan (Secretariat of JVAM) has been playing a leading role, and working in tandem with the various other civil society organizations to fulfill the mandate of the monarch.
